Principal Platform Architect | Enterprise Cloud & Systems Strategy

My career began at the foundational layer of the internet. At EarthLink, I started on the datacenter floor—managing power, cooling, and fiber infrastructure—before advancing to Unix Systems Administrator, where I supported and scaled over 1,500 physical Unix servers and storage devices running core consumer internet services.

That early immersion in low-level systems evolved into engineering mission-critical environments with zero margin for error. I configured and deployed Unix systems delivering real-time spacecraft telemetry for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (Deep Space Network) and later built high-availability AIX and Solaris clusters for City of Hope’s clinical research and medical centers under strict HIPAA compliance. At Sony (PlayStation Network), I spent nearly seven years operating large-scale distributed systems, driving Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and optimizing enterprise storage arrays to support over 80 million monthly active users globally.

Over the past decade, I transitioned that low-level systems depth into enterprise cloud architecture and platform engineering. Today, I architect and scale multi-account AWS environments that support hundreds of independent business units and thousands of repositories. My focus centers on:

I operate as a practicing platform architect—not a slide-deck theorist. I design enterprise systems with the code-level depth required to build and debug them myself, actively leveraging modern Python, Infrastructure as Code, and API orchestration to turn architectural blueprints into working platforms. My focus centers on:

  • Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs): Designing self-service, zero-touch provisioning engines that eliminate “TicketOps” and accelerate developer velocity.
  • Identity & Supply Chain Governance: Architecting cross-SaaS identity mapping and claim-driven OIDC governance across GitHub, JFrog Artifactory, Terraform Cloud, and AWS IAM.
  • Architectural Resilience: Replacing brittle “YOLO engineering” with deterministic CI/CD quality gates, immutable release engineering, and hardened multi-tenant isolation.

A quarter-century of systems depth provides an indispensable lens in the AI era. Knowing how compute, memory, storage, and networking execute at the bare-metal and kernel layers allows me to integrate modern AI tooling and autonomous workflows while safeguarding architectural integrity, cost predictability, and production stability.
